Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has urged Nigerians to intensify prayers for their fatherland and look to the future with optimism as the country moves into the New Year.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Malam Imam Imam in Abuja on Sunday, Tambuwal admonished that the New Year offers Nigerians a new opportunity to renew their faith in the country and also offers them a new prospect to aspire for a united and progressive nation.

He added that the challenges that confronted the country, especially in the last two years, would be surmounted in the New Year if all Nigerians unite with a common goal.

“Nigeria is a beautiful country whose full potential remains untapped,” Tambuwal said. “My hope and prayer is that we all experience a peaceful and prosperous New Year for our country and for people.”

While reassuring Nigerians that the House of Representatives would continue on its chosen path of putting the country first at all times, he prayed to God to continue to bless Nigeria and Nigerians, both in the New Year and beyond.
